NATIONALLY-RENOWNED JOURNALIST JAMI FLOYD JOINS THE GLOBAL GAME AS MANAGING EDITOR — THIS IS THE NEW FACE OF TGG (TRUST US, IT’S MUCH BETTER THAN THE OLD FACE)September 18 | Posted by The Global Game | THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Jami Floyd, nationally-known journalist and former White House aide, announced last week that she would join The Global Game as Managing Editor and Chief Global Correspondent. She joins TGG Publisher and Editor-In-Chief, known to readers only as G$, who launched The Global Game in October 2010.
Jami is a lawyer, journalist, and political and legal analyst for network and cable news. From 1999 to 2002 she served as the Law and Justice Correspondent for ABC News. Thereafter, she served as consumer correspondent for the news division. In 2005, she left ABC to launch Jami Floyd: Best Defense, a live news, politics and legal talk show that aired daily on the cable network Court TV. That show enjoyed a five-year run.
Jami currently blogs for several national political blogs and serves as a guest host and legal analyst on WNYC, the flagship station for National Public Radio. She is also a frequent legal and political analyst for MSNBC. She blogs for It’s a Free Country.org, the PBS website Need to Know and ThirdAge.com. In September, Jami was tapped to host a television series of TED Conversations, based on the hugely successful online nonprofit, TED: Ideas Worth Spreading, in partnership with NYC Media.
Jami holds a B.A. in political science, with a Concentration in Journalism, from Binghamton University. She is an honors graduate of the Berkeley Law School at the University of California, and holds a Master of Laws degree from the Stanford Law School, where she also served as a teaching fellow.
Like her longtime friend and colleague G$, Jami has a life-long love of sports and politics. She also writes and speaks on the intersection of race and American life, as well as the constitutional tension that exists between fair press and free trial.
Jami’s fearlessness, doggedness and intellectual honesty as a lawyer, journalist and blogger make her a natural partner for The Global Game. In addition to her managerial duties, Jami’s work will be promoted on The Global Game blog site as a legal and political analyst. The addition of Jami to the roster will give The Global Game a whole new audience and potential for growth and innovation.
